Badminton is a very successful all girls’ boarding and day school just outside Bristol with good rail and road links to London and Heathhrow. Girls excel academically, and most take 4 A Levels rather than the usual 3. There is also the opportunity to take the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) alongside A Levels which offers the chance to research an area of personal interest – highly regarded by universities for developing independent study and presentation skills. Music is very strong and most pupils learn at least one instrument. Lots of ensembles and orchestras. Six drama productions every year so plenty of opportunity here to get involved. Badminton has a strong international tradition and old girls include Indira Gandhi and the writer Iris Murdoch. Not known as an overly sporty school, sport is nevertheless well provided for – including kickboxing!
